Hey! I’m Vyvaswath, a mechanical engineering graduate student exploring the world of robotics and controls at Carnegie Mellon University.

I am working with the Legged Systems Group, advised by Prof. Hartmut Geyer of the Robotics Institute at CMU. I am interested in how locomotion control can be transferred from the brain to the spinal cord, and how the spinal circuitry learns. This spinal controller, essentially a network of feedback loops, can be used in applications such as control of prostheses, and potentially humanoids.

Previously, at Indian Institute of Science, I worked on the design and modeling of an articulated mobile robot for ground and pipe inspection. I completed my undergraduate studies at Indian Institute of Technology, Indore, where I worked on things related to Fluid Mechanics and Mechatronics.

Outside of academics, I enjoy making and performing music, especially Indian fusion and progressive rock.
